Týskvøldið var móttøka í Reinsarínum í sambandi við altjóða ferðavinnuráðstevnuna CityDNA, sum verður hildin hesa vikuna.
CityDNA er ein felagsskapur, sum fæst við burðardygga býarferðavinnu í Evropa. Tilsamans 120 luttakarar úr øllum Evropa eru við á ráðstevnuni, sum er í SILO, men harumframt eru eisini verkstovur í ymsum kaffistovum í býnum í dag og í morgin.
Flogferðslan til og úr Føroyum hevur verið tarnað av veðrinum seinastu dagarnar, og tað merkti eisini, at nógvir av útlendsku luttakarunum fingu eina drúgvari ferð til Føroya enn teir høvdu ætlað.

“As I understand it, many of you have already had a taste of our unpredictable nature and our isolation. A number of you were due to arrive yesterday yet instead found yourselves spending extra hours in the air — and even a night in one of our neighbouring countries.
So, first of all, thank you for sticking with your plans and making it here. I truly believe that by the end of the week, you will find it well worth the effort.
If there is one positive to take from this, it might be a glimpse into the Faroese way of life. Here, you always need at least a Plan B, C — perhaps even D — and you cannot worry too much about it. It is simply in the hands of Mother Nature, and beyond your control. In fact, learning to surrender a little control can be quite healthy in today’s modern world.”

“As a city, Tórshavn has a lot to offer in tourism, but it is no secret, that the most popular tourist sites in the islands are situated close to small local communities. That is why close collaboration with local communities is extremely important, making sure that these communities can handle the flow of tourists and at the same time manage to maintain their own identity and way of life.
The question how AI will impact tourism is also a very interesting and relevant subject. There can be no doubt, that AI will make things easier in many ways, leading to a more efficient tourism industry, but again it is important, that we don’t lose ourselves in all this new technology. We cannot underestimate the value of human interaction. After all – it is more satisfying interacting with a real person than with a computer.
These are just a few of the subjects, you will be discussing over the next few days, and it is my hope, that this conference will be productive and inspiring for everyone involved.”
